Today I'm breaking away from the stainless steel jungle, and focusing on our vineyards again. Today we are harvesting bush vine Chenin blanc, Viognier, Shiraz and Pinotage. The grapes that came in this week was optimally ripe and of premium quality. The tonnage per hectare is in the right spot and I am generally pleased with the quality.
Yesterday was yet another scorcher with a mild 39 degrees Celsius... Today is almost the same. Our main quality aspect lies in the method of producing our grapes - un-irrigated bush vines. This makes the current climatic conditions very difficult at the moment - considering that we only had 70% of last years rain, of which fell way too early in last year Autumn. I see the weather service are predicting some rain for the weekend. This would be a blessing from above.
Well, enough of my blah-blah and more photos!
